He is also a seasoned executive coach on press interview and presentation skills.
Garcia is an adjunct associate professor of management and communications at New York University. He has taught courses on investor relations and financial public relations and now teaches courses in crisis communications and business ethics, and on public policy issues in business. He has received his school's awards for teaching excellence and for outstanding service. Garcia is also a frequent speaker and author on topics including crisis management, communications and business ethics, corporate disclosure, and journalist/source relationships. His two-volume book Crisis Communications was published in 1999.
Garcia has an MA in philosophy from Columbia University, and studied classical Greek language and literature in the Greek Institute of the City University of New York Graduate Center. He has a BA with honors in politics and philosophy from New York University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
